What is a Psychoeducational Assessment?
Psychoeducational assessment is a thorough evaluation process aimed at identifying learning disabilities, cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and other factors that may impact an individual’s learning and academic performance, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
The goal of the psychoeducational assessment process is to gain a thorough understand of an individual’s learning profile, provide educational planning, and identify appropriate interventions and accommodations needed for the individual to succeed in the school environment.
The assessment process is tailored to meet the diverse needs of individuals across different stages of life. Whether for a child, adolescent or adult facing academic challenges and learning difficulties, our team is here to help.
Assessment Process
Intake and Initial Meeting
Reach out to us to schedule an initial consultation. During the first meeting you’ll meet with one of our experienced psychologists to discuss your concerns and the need for a psychoeducational assessment.
Complete the Assessment
Once we’ve agreed that a psychoeducational assessment is the right path forward, we’ll move on to the assessment phase. This typically involves completing a series of assessment measures, which may include standardized tests, interviews, and observations.
Review Results and Recommendations with Psychologist
After the assessment measures have been completed, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment to review the results with you. During this session, you’ll sit down with your psychologist to discuss the findings, recommendations, and next steps.
